Ukrainian Armed Forces pilot with call sign Moonfish calls F-16 a fun plane during NATO exercises
A Ukrainian pilot with the call sign Moonfish called the F-16 fighter a “fun plane” after completing training. A video of his interview was published by the NATO press service.
It’s a really fun airplane to fly. I’m not saying the MiG I used to fly is boring, but the F-16 is definitely more adaptable, it moves really easily.
In addition, Major General of the Danish Air Force Jan Dam spoke about the advantages of the F-16. He called the fighters modern and not inferior to the best Western analogues. “I am sure that the Ukrainian Air Force will benefit from this,” he believes.

Earlier, Zelensky confirmed the arrival of F-16s in Ukraine
On Sunday, August 4, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that F-16 fighter jets had arrived in the country. He thanked the United States, Denmark and the Netherlands for accepting Ukraine’s request for the aircraft.
According to The New York Times, Ukraine has about six pilots conducting test flights of the same number of F-16 fighters, and the pilots are just getting used to small-scale operations and have not yet entered combat.
At the same time, The Economist magazine reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) received only 10 F-16 fighters out of the 79 promised. It was also noted that by the end of this year, the Ukrainian troops should have 20 aircraft of this type.

The use of F-16s is associated with great risks for the Ukrainian Armed Forces
As The Independent wrote, the use of F-16 fighters on the front line would be associated with great risks for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In addition, the destruction of these aircraft would enhance the image of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the entire country.
According to Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Rodion Miroshnik, it is only a matter of time before the F-16 fighters are destroyed. He believes that this could happen when the aircraft appears in the area of Russian air defense systems (AD), or when it is in the crosshairs of a Russian fighter.
