Reader’s opinion|It is important that children are allowed to be children in their own way.
What the smaller the child, the more important it is that he feels accepted everywhere. In several European countries, children are accompanied by adults in restaurants, outsiders speak kindly to children, admire them and consider them as equal people.
Children are part of society and it is important that they are allowed to be children in their own way. Children’s crying and laughter are part of life. Saint Francis of Assisi has said that as long as there are children, flowers and birdsong, there is hope. Children deserve the same admiration as the first blue anemones of spring.
In a friendly way meeting has a huge meaning for everyone. Do you remember when store cashiers started greeting their customers years ago? Nowadays, I am wished “have a nice rest of the day”. Even in the store, the salesperson greets you with a smile. Once a young salesman who was stocking the shelves greeted me happily. I asked him if it didn’t bother him to greet every visitor, he answered: “Well, no, because it’s part of my job.” An effective and simple instruction that can bring a good mood to many. The same could be asked of daycare staff, how do you manage to be gentle and patient with small children day after day? “Belongs to work wine.”

Children’s crying and laughter are part of life.
For a few years, I myself have tried this salesman’s approach to small children. Wherever I’ve met families, I’ve smiled and talked to the children (if the parents allow it). I’ve gotten a lot of smiles and laughs back. I’ve even smiled at a toddler in a pram – and you see, I almost always get a captivating smile back. I challenge everyone to join!
in Finland it is possible to be in peace from children’s voices, because there are areas where there are no children in restaurants, hotels, trains and many places everywhere. That thing is well taken care of. It has also been taken care of so that the children have their own areas where they can play separately from the adults. In addition to these, I would like more real free areas where children and adults could live and be together and children could experience appreciation and benevolence.
