The company will acquire stakes in projects for drilling pioneering wells in new markets abroad
The PLN (National Congress Bill) 14, 2024 opens special credit in the 2024 Budget of R$67.3 million for investments abroad by the branch of Petrobras which is in the Netherlands.
The company will acquire stakes in projects to drill pioneering wells in new markets abroad. “Failing to comply with the request, according to the company, would make its strategic plan unfeasible, negatively impacting the discovery of new oil and natural gas reserves abroad”states a message accompanying the project.
The credit will be funded with the company’s own resources. The change has no impact on the fiscal target because the Petrobras group companies are excluded from the target calculation.
The Petrobras branch is located in Rotterdam, which, according to the company, has a long tradition of investing in the oil and gas industry. The city still has the largest port in Europe.
The project will now be analyzed by the Mixed Budget Committee and then by the Congress Plenary.
