RBC: The Netherlands suspected a ship from the Russian Federation of espionage and did not allow it into the port
The Netherlands prohibited entry into the port of a Russian ship belonging to the Arctic Shipping company, which is part of one of the largest fishing holdings in Russia, despite the presence of all the necessary documentation, the Association of Shipowners of the Fishing Fleet (ASRF) reported. The reason for this decision could be suspicions of Russian fishing vessels conducting espionage activities, notes RBC.
It is clarified that the incident occurred on May 16. The Dutch port of Eemshaven refused to allow a fishing vessel from Russia despite the fact that it had a catch certificate, port state control forms, as well as other documents that had been submitted in advance in accordance with the requirements of the European Union.
Instead, suppliers were asked to use alternative shipping routes, but another port in the kingdom and ports in Germany also refused to allow the ship.
Earlier, the Swiss Senate (upper house of parliament) voted to call on the government to “systematically expel” certain Russian spies from the country.
