The Senate approved, in 2023, a PEC to restrict the monocratic decisions of the Supreme Court; text is in the Chamber
Genial/Quaest survey released this Sunday (May 26, 2024) indicates that 72% of federal deputies agree with the limitation of monocratic decisions by the STF (Supreme Federal Court). The Senate approved, in November 2023, a PEC (Proposed Amendment to the Constitution) that limits this type of decisions by the Supreme Court. The issue is now in the Chamber of Deputies.
The survey interviewed 183 federal deputies in office, in person and online. The interviews were carried out from April 9th to May 21st. The margin of error is 4.8 percentage points, plus or minus. Here’s the complete of the research (PDF – 7 MB).

In general, 34% of respondents said they evaluated it positively the work of the STF. Others 21% responded to be regular It is 40% stated that the evaluation was negative. Another 5% chose the option “don’t know or didn’t answer”.

The STF has debated the liberalization of marijuana. Deputies were questioned about the topic. They responded:
- in favor – 19%;
- neither for nor against – 6%;
- against – 71%;
- don’t know or didn’t answer – 4%.
