Club says it responds to the request of the State Government and that the team does not have a “political spectrum”; the campaign will be on Wednesday (May 29th)
The former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), will participate on Wednesday (May 29, 2024) in the GFC (Guarani Futebol Clube) fundraising campaign for those affected by the floods in Rio Grande do Sul. The event will be held at the Brinco de Ouro da Princesa stadium, in Campinas (SP).
According to Guarani, the mayor of Campinas, Dario Saadi (Republicans), and members of the Brazilian Army. The São Paulo club stated that the purpose of their presence is to “endorse the solidarity campaign with gauchos”.
The gym will be made available by the Campinas club to collect donations for the victims from 10am to 7pm. Preferably, clothing, cleaning and hygiene materials, water and food are requested.

On Guarani’s social networks, there are positive and negative reactions to the announcement of the event with the participation of Tarcísio and Bolsonaro.
In a statement, the Campinas club said that the fundraising campaign was requested by Government of São Paulo and that the club does not have “political spectrum”
“This cause is above any and all partisan political interests, and must be taken up by all of us Brazilians, who have the obligation to help our brothers in need”he stated.
“Any and all requests in this regard will be accepted, regardless of the political color of its organizers. Life will always be more valuable than any partisan position.”
