Leclerc flies, Sainz in more difficulty
On a Friday that ended with Charles Leclerc’s best time in FP2 of the Monaco GP, in Ferrari you can’t feel the same enthusiasm on the garage side of Carlos Sainz. The Spaniard, even 10th in the first session, managed to progress in FP2, finishing in sixth position amidst many question marks.
In the interviews given to the media at the end of the activity on the track, the Spaniard indicated this day as one of the most negative in his experience in the Principality, but at the same time he underlined a positive aspect such as that of long runswhere the #55 was in fact one of the fastest.
Sainz’s words
“We certainly struggled for more than one lap today – he has declared – we simply couldn’t get maximum performance with the medium and soft tyres. There is something we need to understand, but hopefully we will find answers by tomorrow. We changed the setup before FP2, however I went better in the long run, but it wasn’t the best way to start the weekend. Monaco is one of my favorite tracks where I feel best, which is why what happened today was strange. At the same time, when I see that I am one of the fastest in the long run I realize that there is something we need to understand, but if we could put everything together we should solve everything for tomorrow.”
