Scoop has been covering the professional careers of renowned Spanish journalists for six weeks. With long talks with Lara Siscar, the experiences of each communicator serve to review the recent history of Spain from the eyes of those, precisely, who told the story. The program, produced by RTVE in collaboration with LACOproductora (audiovisual production company of PRISA, publishing company of EL PAÍS), reaches its midpoint this week with a broadcast starring Rosa María Calaf, one of the most iconic faces of RTVE, where she exercised all his career.
From her radio beginnings in Barcelona to becoming one of the most famous correspondents of the Telediario, Rosa María Calaf traveled for decades to more than 180 countries of the 193 recognized by the UN, from which she told what was happening beyond our borders. Calaf was also one of the promoters, in 1983, of TV3, the regional channel of Catalonia. She also did groundbreaking reports for her time, such as the one in which she interviewed a homosexual for the first time on television, which she will remember in the program.
As a correspondent, she was in New York, Rome, opened the Moscow correspondent for the Soviet Union, the Vienna correspondent for the Eastern countries and the Balkans and was responsible for restructuring the Buenos Aires correspondent for South America. Among the awards she has received are the Ondas for Best Professional Work (2001), the Women Together Award (2007) granted by the United Nations or Journalist of the Year and the Madrid Press Association (both in 2009). ). In her interview, the journalist highlights the importance of paying attention to the margins and those who are left suffering when the news cameras are turned off and the headlines are forgotten. Colleagues like Maruja Torres, Enric González or David Jiménez contribute to the portrait that the space makes of the journalist.
In each delivery of Scoop, Lara Siscar meets with a different journalist, with whom she has long talks and travels to some relevant place in her journalistic or life career. After the installments dedicated to Raúl del Pozo, Olga Viza, Federico Jiménez Losantos, Manuel Jabois, Nativel Preciado, Miguel Ángel Aguilar and Rosa María Calaf, the next protagonists will be Alfredo Relaño, José Gabriel Mujika, Rosa Montero, Gervasio Sánchez, Jesús Maraña and Pepa Good.
