In the midst of his criminal trial, Donald Trump is using the weekend off to lash out against Joe Biden and the pro-Palestinian campus protests. As usual, he chooses harsh words.
Wildwood – Donald Trump is currently the first former US president to stand trial in a criminal case. In New York last week he had to listen as several witnesses testified against him. Before the hush-money trial continues on Monday with his once close confidant Michael Cohen, the Republican insists on taking another stand against the incumbent president in front of tens of thousands of people Joe Biden and handing out “America haters.”
Saturday’s “Make America Great Again” rally in Wildwood, a town in New Jersey, was the third stop on Trump’s campaign tour in just under a month. There he raged former president particularly against the trial against him – described the allegations of hush money payments to Stormy Daniels as a “hoax” and the judge in the case as “corrupt”. He blames the charges against him on Joe Biden. But in addition to statements about his own trial, Trump also spoke about the war in the Middle East and the campus protests that have been going on in the country for weeks.
Trump calls on Biden to return donations from “America haters.”
His demand: Biden should return all donations that he allegedly received from those people who are also financing the pro-Palestinian uprisings at US universities. He officially called on the 81-year-old president and the Democratic Party to “return the donations of all anti-Semites, America-haters and financiers of chaos who financed the chaos on our universities.” The former president did not name specific donors or groups, nevertheless demanded loudly: “Give the money back, Joe!” This is reported by, among others Washington Examiner.
Trump speaks out against student protests: “Biden surrenders to the terrorists”
Pro-Palestinian demonstrations have been spreading across campuses in the United States for more than two weeks. The students are calling on their universities to end relationships with companies that have connections to Israel because they are helping to finance the war. The young people at the demonstrations are also calling for a ceasefire Israel war out of. Several hundred people have already been arrested during the protests. Joe Biden recently defended the students’ right to protest, but emphasized: “Threatening people, intimidating people, making people afraid is not a peaceful protest. It’s against the law.”
For Trump, not taking tougher action against the campus protests is a sign that Joe Biden is “surrendering to the terrorists.” After all, according to the ex-president, America’s greatest enemies come from within, “from the left.” Trump himself would take tougher action against the pro-Palestinian demonstrators, he made it clear at the rally. According to Trump, students from other countries who “want to bring anti-Americanism or anti-Semitism to our universities” should be deported immediately.

After a sweeping blow in New Jersey: Donald Trump has to go back to court
Around 80,000 people were present at the rally, according to the US portal Politico reported. New Jersey is a historically Democratic state: Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election there by 16 points. However, the rally took place in Republican-leaning Cape May County – where Trump was ahead in the elections in both 2016 and 2020. As of Monday, Trump’s election campaign will be over again – the ex-president is expected back in court next week in his hush money trial. (nbe)
