Even the EV restomodder is switching to the V8…
Today is big motorcycle day! Last night we were able to unveil the Ferrari 12-cylinder, for example. Stellantis has already indicated that the combustion engine may stay for a while and a crazy company is creating a quad with a V12.
You would think that miracles have disappeared, but that is not the case. Because the incredible petrolhead news continues with this EV restomodder. This concerns ECD, a company that mainly specializes in making British restomods based on Land Rovers. Their specialty is installing electric motors in Defenders and E-Types. There is a market for it and what they make looks absolutely cool.
Ev restomodder switches to a V8!
The company is taking a different tack for today. Instead of an English car with an engine that does not leak oil, they opted for a Mustang. Normally we would expect them to opt for an electric motor. However, nothing could be further from the truth! There is a combustion engine under the hood. And no, it’s not the stock engine that they just left as is.
The car in question, a Mustang GT500, was completely rebuilt by ECD. For the engine, ECD turned to one of the best names in the business: Roush. Under the beautiful hood lies a 5.7 liter small V8. We say small, because the GT500 was originally called a 7-liter V8. The engine in question is the Roush 347 SR and is a high-quality piece of technology, good for 410 hp. And those are reliable horsepower.

There is a major brake upgrade in the form of a Wilwood big brake kit with 6 pistons at the front and 4 pistons at the rear. There are various options in terms of coilovers. You can basically make it as crazy as you want.
As always, the wheels are very cool, in this case American Racing Torq-Thrust D-pattas, fitted with BF Goodrich tires. Furthermore, the car has new paint, new chrome bumpers and LED headlights.
The best part is that you can of course put together your new non-electric restomod entirely according to your wishes. There’s even one configurator available! It is not the case that restomodder ECD has completely switched to the V8, you can still equip classic cars with an electric motor.
