A unit of paratroopers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces surrendered in the Avdeevka direction
In the Avdeevka direction of the special operation, an entire unit of paratroopers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) surrendered en masse, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on April 13.
The department clarified that nine servicemen of the 25th separate airborne brigade surrendered. This happened near the village of Vodyanoye.
According to Ukrainian paratroopers, commanders never appeared at the front lines, and tasks were set “remotely” using radio communications. “Our superiors don’t care about us; they don’t want to go to positions to assess the situation,” claims captured serviceman Alexander.
The captured paratrooper Valery said that the commanders are abandoning the fighters, while they themselves are standing aside. The military also noted poor planning, a lack of professional military training and reinforcements when needed. The Ukrainian military also stated that they were treated well by the Russian army and called on their colleagues to lay down their arms.
At the beginning of April, the Ministry of Defense said that Russian volunteers in the Artyomovsk direction were able to capture a stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Having suffered losses, the enemy garrison surrendered.
