“I will no longer be part of the Constitutional Affairs Committee – Senate. I didn’t decide it, but Matteo Renzi and Enrico Borghi, who didn’t even have the courage to tell me. The decision was communicated to me, with no small amount of embarrassment, by an IV official. Congratulations for the style…”. The announcement via social media by the senator and spokesperson for Azione Mariastella Gelmini triggers a new wave of controversy, yet another, in the now former Terzo Polo.
The discussion between Iv and Azione takes place entirely on Twitter. Enrico Borghi, group leader in the Senate, in fact replies directly to Gelmini: “Dear Maria Stella, given that you have become accustomed (in company, moreover!) to deserting the group meetings where issues are discussed, to bring them to the public, I will answer you publicly: I believe that Dafne Musolino is more capable and reliable than you in the First Commission. It’s up to the group leader to decide. And he decided, knowing that he was expressing the majority consensus of the group. That’s all. You’re fine.”
Shortly afterwards, however, Carlo Calenda intervenes in defense of the Azione spokesperson: “When Borghi joined the parliamentary group, the fracture between Azione and Italia Viva was already complete. From the Statute we could have vetoed his entry. We didn’t do it , believing that he would have behaved professionally or at least in accordance with normal manners. Amen. Luckily all this is behind us”, writes Calenda.
(Adnkronos) – However, IV coordinator Raffaella Paita counters the Action leader: “Calenda, this is how it works in democratic parliamentary groups. But there are two things on which you really cannot give lessons. The first is education. The second is how to do politics. Stop attacking Italia Viva and make a life without us, if you can. I am pleased to see that you attack Renzi more than Meloni or Schlein: it’s called the ingratitude of the resentful beneficiary. Bye.”
And MP Francesco Bonifazi also supports IV’s line: “Understanding the rules of parliamentary groups is very simple. You don’t have to be a neutrino expert at CERN, even Maria Stella can do it. Whoever has the majority decides. Since the Gelmini does as she wants, she absents herself without saying so, she doesn’t relate to others and thinks she does as she pleases, the natural consequence is that from today Gelmini no longer follows the differentiated autonomy and the Constitutional Affairs commission. That’s all. Simple , right?”, concludes Bonifazi.
