Political experts and analysts confirmed that the West’s supply of weapons to Ukraine will not change the current situation between Moscow and Kiev, but it is an attempt to prolong the crisis to achieve gains such as attrition, warning of the consequences of supplying Ukraine with long-range missiles that reach the Russian interior, or advanced air defense systems.
America and European countries, headed by Britain, France and Germany, continue to provide military support to Kiev, as the weapons provided made a difference on the battlefields, especially American weapons such as Javelin shoulder-fired missiles, HIMARS rocket launchers, howitzers, Mastiff armored vehicles and British Star Strike missiles. The German armament included the maneuverable Gibbard tanks, the Howitzer 2000 artillery, anti-personnel and light vehicles, the Marder armored infantry vehicle for transporting troops, and the Leopard tank.
Dr. Amr El-Deeb, a professor of international relations at the Russian Lobachevsky University, and director of the Rabalist Experts Center for Studies, confirmed that supplying Western weapons to Ukraine is not new, but talking about supplying it with long-range weapons or missiles through which it can target Russian lands would be a dangerous matter, warning that this step could lead to a violent Russian response.
Al-Deeb added in statements to Al-Ittihad that the issue of attacking Moscow or the major Russian cities that own military factories and nuclear reactors will have a terrifying effect, and at that time Russia will have the right to implement its military doctrine that guarantees the use of everything possible to confront any danger that puts the world in front of it. The specter of the use of weapons of mass destruction.
Al-Deeb pointed out that tanks and regular weapons will not have an impact on the conduct of military operations, but the fear of the West supplying Ukraine with long-range missiles or air defense systems through which the Russian air force can stop the work of the Russian air force or create a no-fly zone on the territory of Ukraine, which leads to dangerous results. .
Hassan Hashem, a researcher specializing in political affairs, indicated that Western weapons will not resolve the battle, but they help resist the Ukrainian forces and inflict greater losses on the Russian side, explaining that Ukraine had a system of tanks, navy, aircraft and communications systems, but the destruction of its brigades prompted the West to provide it with weapons. He added in statements to Al-Ittihad that the Russian forces have the ability to deal with the new weapon, but the Ukrainian forces are betting on time for the conditions of the battle to improve.
And the researcher specializing in Russian affairs added that Kyiv wants to prolong the battle as much as possible to obtain gains or to bet on other paths parallel to the crisis, such as attrition, but this is unthinkable for the Russian side, which stated that the army has everything it needs.
