Porsche has also aligned itself with the future of the automotive industry. The automaker from Zuffenhausen wanted to reiterate its ambitions regarding the electrification of its range, announcing that in addition 80% of the Porsche cars that will be delivered in 2030 will be fully electric. But, because there is a but, pure electric will not be the only solution that the brand will embrace in the coming years: even synthetic fuels, better known as eFuelswill play a leading role in Porsche’s future range, as also guaranteed by CEO Oliver Blume.
“Our goal is always to do the right things well, it’s all about concentration, agility and speed – his words reported by Ansa – The best example is our double ‘E’, namely e-mobility and eFuels. The run-up to electric mobility is more significant for us than for practically anyone else, but let’s not forget that at the same time as Haru Oni, in southern Chile, HIF Global, one of the partner companies we have invested in, is opening one of the first integrated pilot plants in the world for the production of eFuels together with other partners. Synthetic fuels are potentially almost neutral in terms of CO2: in the long term, as an additive in the fuel of combustion vehicles, every percentage point can reduce CO2 emissions″. However, Blume recalled that the production of these synthetic fuels only makes sense in places where sustainable energy is abundant.
Returning to the electrification of the range, the Porsche CEO reiterated that the all-electric version of macan it is currently being tested and should be available to customers in 2024. But that’s not the only battery-powered novelty expected in the line-up of the Zuffenhausen brand: “We are planning all-electric versions for large parts of our portfolio, including the 718 and a new one Electric SUV in the luxury segment“. After exalting the qualities of the Cupra sports models, ID.Buzz and its company cars 911 Targa and Taycan, Blume concluded: “I want to test all new products from the Volkswagen Group myself. Our great brands have so many great cars.”
