Due to a fire in the club “Polygon” in Kostroma on Nikitskaya Street, the flower shop “Flora” burned down. The owner of the store, Olga Dimitriu, told Izvestia about the loss of her life’s work.
“I arrived about an hour after the fire started. Was there until the morning, but what to do? You stand and watch just how the business burns down. A matter of life, the fruits of a dream, ”Olga shared on November 6.
She said that on Friday, on the eve of the tragedy, proceeds remained in the cashier of her store, and in the hall there was a wide range of flowers in the refrigerators and soft toys, which were also sold in the store. Due to the fire, Olga lost about 10 million rubles.
The fire in the club “Polygon” occurred on the night of Saturday, November 5. The fire spread over an area of 3.5 thousand square meters. m. Now the fire is completely eliminated. According to the latest data, 13 people died as a result of the fire, five more were injured, four are missing. One of the victims told Izvestia that there were no emergency exits in the building.
It was clarified that around 03:00, during a conflict with visitors, 23-year-old Stanislav Ionkin launched the Hunter’s Signal device into the ceiling of the entertainment center. The man pleaded guilty and was arrested.
On November 5, a visitor to the Polygon club, Irina, who escaped from the fire, told Izvestia about the panic of people and the difficulties in leaving the premises at the time of the fire. She clarified that the emergency exits were closed, people were breathing acrid smoke for a long time, because of which they could not open their eyes.
On the fact of the incident, two criminal cases were initiated under the article on causing death by negligence and on improper provision of services.
Mourning for the dead was declared in the Kostroma region on November 7. This was stated by the governor of the region Sergei Sitnikov.
