Sowing
• All species of cempasuchil reproduce by seed.
• They can be sown in the ground or in a pot, preferably between April and July.
• To sow wild species, seed that is no more than six to eight months old should be used.
• One gram of seeds should be sown by spreading them in a square meter, then place a thin layer of substrate and waste such as sawdust and litter on top of it.
• Water daily keeping the
humidity.
• When the seedlings emerge and are one month old (first pair of visible true leaves), they are transplanted to the definitive site.
• After the flower is very dry, the seeds can be removed, wrapped in brown paper in a glass jar, and kept in a cool place until the next season.
Irrigation
• It is recommended to water every 10 days (does not require excessive watering).
Plagues and diseases
• They do not present serious pest or disease problems, although during flowering they can be attacked by puffins or burritos; individuals can be removed by hand.
