Is Ruby Star a successful color on a 992 Turbo?
‘s PTS program Porsche is a huge success. The idea is simple. You can choose from a limited number of colors at Porsche. Black, White, Racing Yellow and Indian Red are standard. Then you have a few metallic paints (option for Carrera and GT3, standard on Turbo). Finally, there are special colors. Above that again is PTS. If you have not found your favorite color, you can succeed there anyway.
PTS has all kinds of colors, most of which Porsche has used on other models in the past. In some cases it is a bit sour. Some colors were first ‘regular’ metallic paints (and priced as such). Now they are suddenly 10,430 euros. That’s a lot of money for a tan. So if you choose, go for a recognizable and iconic color, such as Ruby Star!
Colour
That’s a color everyone knows. This pink shade caused a furore on the 964 generation Porsche 911 Carrera RS. You also saw it on the 968 Club Sport. 928s and 944s in this color have also been spotted. In both cases you could also order them with the convex-cup rims in the same color. Beautiful? That is your own taste. Recognizable: absolutely?
But will the color work on a more modern 911? We can be on this Ruby Star 992 Turbo. It’s not just any 911 Turbo S, it’s a 20th Anniversary Edition, especially to celebrate 20 years of presence in the Chinese market. It is typically such a car where the complete option booklet is checked.
Think of the black PDLS headlights. Of course there are stickers on the center of the car and on the side with the ’20’ on the doors. Also cool, the mirror caps are high-gloss black, just like the air inlet.
Brakes Ruby Star 992
A subtle detail that is very cool are the ceramic brakes. They are standard yellow, but optionally you can have them sprayed black so that they do not stand out too much. At the rear we see that they sprayed the body color (Ruby Star!) at the exhausts on this 992. That looks much better than the black plastic that seems to be the fashion.
As icing in the applesauce, there are gold-colored Porsche and Porsche 911 Turbo S badges to make it clear that you have a special and expensive Porsche. Yes, expensive! Converted, this device costs 450,000 euros. A standard 992 Turbo S will cost you about 3 tons in the Netherlands.
