There will be three groups in charge of analyzing aspects such as infrastructure and transport
The work commission in charge of designing the candidacy of the Region to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup was launched this Monday, according to sources from the regional government in a statement. The first decision adopted was the creation of three independent groups to analyze in detail three fundamental aspects that must be taken into account to complete the proposal: the sports venues, the tourist infrastructures and those of a general nature.
The objective is to advance these works in the summer to have all the information available in September. At the end of that month, the regional candidacy must be outlined, responding to all the commitments made by the Royal Spanish Football Federation.
For this, technical visits will be made to the three sports venues: Enrique Roca, La Manga Club and Pinatar Arena. The other working groups will be in charge of analyzing the tourist and general infrastructures available in the Region. In the first of them the Institute of Tourism of the Region (Itrem) and the Development Institute will be integrated, together with the departments of tourism of the municipalities of Murcia, Cartagena and San Pedro del Pinatar.
For its part, the general infrastructure group will study the situation in terms of health, safety, emergency, transport, airport and railway communications resources. “In less than a week we have been able to get to work to design a candidacy that will lead us to host the World Cup in Spain and Portugal,” explained the general director of Sports, Francisco Javier Sánchez, who emphasized that ” with the coordination and collaboration of all we will be able to present a proposal for a Region with guarantees».
