Pepón Nieto (Marbella, 55 years old) was one of the protagonists of Excuse me beautiful, but Lucas loved mea gay-themed film released in 1997. Recently, the actor recorded an interview with Alaska for the broadcast of the tape on the neighborhood cinema this coming Saturday, June 25, coinciding with the celebration of LGTBI+ Pride 2022. But this Thursday Nieto explained on his social networks that TVE had contacted him to inform him that the program would not be broadcast, since the feature film directed by Félix Sabroso and Dunia Ayaso did not seem appropriate for “that time slot”, the one on Saturday afternoon, and which would go on to be broadcast in August.
The program was scheduled to air this coming Saturday, June 25. A couple of days ago I received a call from the program informing me that it would NOT be broadcast,

“A couple of days ago I received a call from the program informing me that it would not be broadcast, that there were orders from directors of the chain that the broadcast be suspended, ”the actor commented on Twitter. “The program was a pride special, there were rainbow flags decorating the set and even Alaska wore one on her dress,” he continued to explain on the social network.
In its day, the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA), dependent on the Ministry of Culture, had rated the film as suitable for ages 13+so in principle there would be no conflict when scheduling it during the neighborhood cinema.
One day after Nieto commented on this situation on social media, the actor explained that TVE had contacted him to confirm that Excuse me beautiful, but Lucas loved me yes, it will finally be broadcast this Saturday, June 25 in its entirety, with the introduction prior to the film. He also thanked the public entity for its quick response to his complaint.
To the consultation of this newspaper, RTVE has explained that the qualification of the ICAA “is a recommendation” that, in this case, “collided with the Internal Code” of the public entity. For this reason, the RTVE television channels had always broadcast this feature film at night in the past, considering that it deserved a greater restriction on its grid than the one granted by the Ministry of Culture. From the corporation they assure that it will be this Saturday of the LGTBI + Pride and not another day when the special program can be seen on La 1.
José Pablo López himself, director of general content for RTVE, has also resorted to Twitter to explain what has been a “misunderstanding” related to the rating of the film.
I have spoken with @NietoPepon this morning and I greatly appreciate your understanding with this problem that has arisen with the rating of the film. The responsibility for the misunderstanding was mine and this Saturday we will broadcast the tape. Thanks and sorry. Our commitment is clear. https://t.co/W8jFoyS2Ty

In addition to special programming, Televisión Española will celebrate LGTBI+ Pride this year with a float in the parade in Madrid on Saturday, July 9, which will also broadcast live. The float will have the Spanish representative of Eurovision 2022, Chanel, in front. It will be dedicated to one of its great successes of the season, the Benidorm Fest and the European Song Festival.
