In the statement published by the German Foreign Ministry, the three countries said that regarding the settlement that has been on the table since March, “we regret that Iran has not yet seized this diplomatic opportunity” and “we call on Iran to do so immediately.”
Earlier on Thursday, the International Atomic Energy Agency condemned Iran’s decision to “close 27 cameras” to monitor its nuclear activities, warning of a “fatal blow” to talks on this thorny file if the disruption continues.
Berlin, London and Paris said they “condemn” Tehran’s decision. The three countries considered that “this aggravates the situation and complicates our efforts towards fully restoring work” to the agreement concluded in 2015, which provides for limiting Iran’s nuclear activities in return for easing international sanctions.
Washington did not sign Thursday’s statement, unlike a joint statement issued with the United States on Wednesday.
