A man lived a distressing moment when he got closer than allowed to the enclosure of an orangutan last Monday, June 6. Hasan Arifin, the protagonist of this story, crossed a security line and was confronted by an animal that refused to let him go.
The incident occurred in an Indonesian zoo called Kasang Kulim. And although the event did not happen to adults, it was recorded in a video that went around the world and has generated thousands of reactions.
As can be seen in the footage, Arifin walks over to the animal’s cage and stretches out his arms.
However, the monkey doesn’t seem to like the man’s presence, so in a fairly quick move, he reaches out to grab him. The man reacts and dodges the slap, but it is not enough.

In fact, the animal reaches the visitor’s shirt and with great force attracts him to him. Quickly, some people around him try to minimize what looks like an attack by the orangutan.
However, they cannot combat the strength of the ape, who after a few seconds grabs Hasan Arifin’s leg and clings to it. Fortunately, The man manages to free himself and escape unharmed.
Given what happened, zoo staff referred to it in an Instagram post: “Clarification from @ipin_chill with the Kasangkulim Zoo on the video that has been widely circulated on social networks, it is very unfortunate what happened. We at Kasangkulim Zoo apologize and hope this will not happen again.”
