Earlier this week it was announced that Yamaha will compete in the Africa Eco Race with a brand new Ténéré World Raid Team. A new partner was also introduced: Riders for Health.
The Africa Eco Race takes place from 15 to 30 October and leads from Monaco to Dakar, Senegal. None other than Alessandro Botturi and Pol Tarres take to the saddle of specially prepared race versions of the recently launched Yamaha Ténéré World Raid. In preparation, the team will participate at the end of this month in the Tunisia Desert Challenge†
Simultaneously with the announcement of the participation, a new collaboration was therefore also proposed with Riders for Health, a humanitarian foundation that provides accessible health care to some of the most remote communities in Africa by making available (on behalf of health organizations) among other things motorcycles and to maintain.
For more than 30 years, Riders for Health has provided convenient transportation for health professionals in some of the poorest and hardest-to-reach regions of Africa, where citizens often live without the basic health care that many of us take for granted.
In the run-up to the Africa Eco Race, Yamaha and Riders for Health will be launching a number of fundraisers together with Two Wheels for Life (the fundraising arm) in the coming months. You can always find the latest news about it on the Yamaha Motor For Riders website†
Yamaha Motor Europe CEO Eric de Seynes is proud of the partnership and hopes that motorcyclists will show their good hearts: “Our goal with this partnership is to raise awareness and fundraise for Riders’ projects that provide essential healthcare to communities in the most remote areas. We really hope that people will be touched by the Riders’ cause and will participate in our upcoming fundraising activities.”
