James is a tall and corpulent man, according to local media reports. Police noted that the man made several posts on social media, calling them “concerning.”
The suspect rented a vehicle and left the key in the subway. Police linked that to a U-Haul with Arizona plates, which they later located in Brooklyn. James had rented the U-Haul.
“We are looking to determine if he has any connection to the train,” said NYPD Detective Chief James Essig, NYPD Chief of Detectives.
The suspect’s social media posts relate to videos about crime in New York and rising crime. He also complained of being homeless. “They made me worse” he wrote in one of the publications.
James also complained about white people, discussed a shooting in Milwaukee. So far the man has ties to Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, police confirmed.
