Tesla founder, Elon Musk, carried out a special institutional ‘test’ of the Model S Plaid. The car that all Tesla lovers are proud of hosted an important character, that is the Chinese ambassador to the United States, Qin Gang.
The diplomat met Elon Musk at the Tesla factory in Fremont, California, where the Model S Plaid is built, and shared some pictures of his experience on Twitter. In a photo published by the ambassador (on the cover) you can see how Musk is showing the system AutoPilot, sitting in the driver’s seat with his hands away from the steering wheel and his feet apparently off the pedals. It is unclear whether the Model S Plaid used was equipped with Tesla’s Full-Self Driving (FSD) beta software.
Had an inspiring talk with @elonmusk today on cars on the road, stars in the sky, research of human brain, meaning of life on earth and our future into the space. Look up and think beyond! pic.twitter.com/7ReluxSTIg

In one of the tweets posted, Qin Gang described the Model S Plaid as a “powerful model”. He posted two more photos of his trip with Musk and talked about a “stimulating interview” he had with Tesla’s CEO relatively “to cars, to the stars in the sky, to research on the human brain, to the meaning of life on earth and to our future in space“. “Look up and think beyond“, Wrote the ambassador.
The trip took place in a difficult period for the planet: in the grip of Covid, now there is also the war in Ukraine perpetrated by Russia. China, which has been neutral with some sympathy for Vladimir Putin, has become an increasingly important market for Tesla since the Shanghai plant began production in late 2019. The site has the capacity to produce 450,000 units. per year and many of the vehicles produced at the site are exported to foreign markets. Effectively, about half of the cars Tesla sold globally last year were produced in Shanghai.
