More than 1.5 million people have fled Ukraine to neighboring countries in ten days.
Moldova prime minister Natalia Gavrilița has called on the United States to provide humanitarian assistance to help the Ukrainians who have fled to Moldova.
As many as 230,000 people have fled the war in Ukraine to a small Moldova of 2.6 million people, 120,000 of whom have remained in the country. Moldova is one of the poorest countries in Europe.
