Court accepted complaint against deputy and hacker for invading Judiciary systems and committing ideological falsehood
The 1st Panel of the STF (Supreme Federal Court) unanimously accepted the complaint presented by the PGR (Attorney General’s Office) against the federal deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP) and the “Vaza Jato” hacker, Walter Delgatti.
The ministers of the Panel followed the vote of the rapporteur, minister Alexandre de Moraes, who defended that the 2 become defendants for the crimes of hacking a computer device and ideological falsehood. Together, the maximum penalties can reach 6 years in prison, plus fine.

During the vote, Cármen Lúcia said that the attempt to use technology to invade the Judiciary systems would be a “artificial disintelligence” – in reference to AI (Artificial Intelligence). Moraes completed and stated that it would be “natural stupidity” commit the reported crime.
Carla Zambelli, according to the hacker’s defense, would have paid a total of R$40,000 to invade “any system of the Judiciary”. The deputy denies it. In a statement to the CPMI (Mixed Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry) on January 8, in August 2023, the hacker reaffirmed that the request to attack the website had been made by the deputy. In the commission, Delgatti also stated that the former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) had promised amnesty if he committed any offense.
Ariovaldo, lawyer for the hacker “Vaza Jato”, He also stated that Delgatti provided the PF with details of the room he was in at the Ministry of Defense to help produce a report on weaknesses in electronic voting machines.
Delgatti has been in prison since August 2023 for the case. In the same month, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison in the Operation Spoofing case. He allegedly hacked authorities’ Telegram accounts, including members of the Lava Jato task force.
In addition to the action involving Delgatti, Zambelli is also a defendant in the STF for illegal possession of a weapon and illegal restraint with the use of a firearm for the episode in which the deputy drew a gun against a journalist in São Paulo on the eve of the 2nd round of the presidential elections.
