The issue is not very clear, but a reconstruction carried out by some users on ResetEra may have revealed the “new” appearance of Lara Croft by Crystal Dynamics, although it is only an artwork, which seems to emerge from the new official website of the series tomb Raider.
The image in question, visible below, is a combination resulting from mixing a wallpaper that was distributed to registered members of the official Tomb Raider website and a background image visible on that website, which you can see at this address.
This effectively makes the image official and also recent, so it could be indicative of the official look of the character.
Obviously it is not exactly something new, as it is an adaptation of theI wait classic Lara Croft, but there are still some new elements, in particular regarding the facial features, which are different from the new trilogy.
However, it is a artworktherefore it may not have to do with the actual 3D model used in video games, but from what we can see it seems like a sort of mixture between the Lara Croft of the origins and that of the reboot trilogy.
Upon closer inspection, she seems rather close to the character introduced as an additional fighter in Call of Duty in the cross-over between the two series, as you can see from the image above. This adds some depth to the idea that the artwork is actually referring to Lara Croft's new appearance, considering that this addition to Call of Duty is relatively recent.
In the meantime, we are waiting for information on the return of the series, while we remember that the collection of the first trilogy in the remastered version was analyzed in our review of Tomb Raider I-II-III Remastered.
