This Friday saw the laying of the first stone of the new Cash Europa facilities, located in Cabezo de Torres. An event that was chaired by Fernando López Miras, president of the Region of Murcia, and was attended by numerous institutional representatives of the Community. In addition, with the commissioning of these new facilities, it is expected that the creation of direct jobs will increase by more than 100 and indirect jobs by 350.
At Cash Europa they are currently working “at the maximum production capacity of their facilities”, which is why they acquired 100,000 m2 of land for the development of a new logistics center. This company has the well-known supermarket chain, Superdumbo, which currently has a total of 31 establishments, 21 located in the Region of Murcia and 10 in the province of Alicante.
The project was developed by the engineer Antonio M. Pina Sánchez from Proyectos Ingenio 21, and for the execution of the works to the Murcian construction company Construcciones Urdecon, SA
The new logistics center of Cash Europa is located next to the incorporation of the A7, as well as being part of a new business park that is in full development. The total investment made will far exceed 35 million euros and the facilities will have a total built surface area of 43,014 m2, 2,500 m2 of which will be used for administration, company staff, a restaurant and more than 5,000 m2 for cold storage. Some dimensions that will allow to multiply by four the current capacity of the group.
The new facilities will have 35 loading and unloading docks, which will facilitate logistics activity to the maximum, since some 200 transport operations are expected to be carried out daily. Likewise, a large car park will be set up for customers that will have 378 spaces. With regard to the internal organization of the warehouse, the new center will have, among others, a high-performance semi-automatic compact storage system (Pallet Shuttle), whose total capacity will allow it to house more than 41,000 pallets. The installation of a 2 Mwp solar photovoltaic plant is also planned, in order to reduce the company’s carbon footprint as much as possible, an investment in line with the company’s philosophy of sustainable production.
