The international community is waiting for new details about the accident of a helicopter in which Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi was traveling when it was flying over a mountainous area on the border with Azerbaijan. More than 14 hours after the aircraft crashed, the state of health of the president and the other people traveling with him are still unknown.
The helicopter crashed this Sunday when Raisi was flying in the company of Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, the governor of East Azerbaijan, a religious leader and some bodyguards.
The reason for the trip was to visit the QizQalas dam and have a meeting with the president of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
However, the itinerary was interrupted by the accident.

The latest images were released in which President Ebrahim Raisi can be seen aboard the Bell-412 aircraft.
The videos, which were initially broadcast by local media and reached the BBC, show the president inside the helicopter, observing the landscape through the window.
They were flying over a desolate and mountainous area, difficult to access by land.
