Good stories need a protagonist, a villain and a hero. And of course they have a conciliatory ending. Like in this atypical Zettel story.
Bremen – Angry people let their frustration run free with written notesThe best examples make it onto social media, where they are sometimes shared millions of times. One note even provided a happy ending.
Angry note goes viral on Instagram: “Put it back, you asshole”
The writer of the note, which received over 5,000 likes on the “notesofberlin” Instagram account within a day, had a specific request: “Who stole my bike? I don’t earn any money and I depend on it for transportation,” he wrote. His bike didn’t seem to be a special specimen. “It’s red, with small tires and rusting all over,” he said on his note.
Why someone would steal his bike was obviously a mystery to him. “Steal from the rich,” he wrote on his note, probably not entirely seriously, but then he took a more gentle tone. In his closing remarks, he asked for his old bike to be returned and gave his phone number for any meetings. “Call me or put it back, you asshole,” was the last sentence on the angry note. The cyclist probably didn’t expect the reaction that followed.
Angry note on mailbox: story has a happy ending
The person who wrote the note apparently did not get his bike back. Suddenly, however, another note was stuck next to his. “I could not reach you on the phone number,” it said. The second person who wrote the note had a specific reason for wanting to call him. One that would certainly make him happier than before. “Please contact us, we will buy you a new bike.” The Instagram-Users at “notesofberlin” were more than surprised by the sudden turn of the notes.
“How wonderful, especially today it is nice to see a bit of humanity,” commented one Instagram user. Another stated that “a bike may even have emotional value” and therefore condemned the thief in the strongest possible terms. The unknown Samaritan’s gesture delighted most users: “There are still lovely people” and “A piece of hope, super cool and generous gesture” were just two of the comments with the most likes. yellow note found on my own mailboxit could be a scam.
