Sainz, last Montmeló as a Ferrari driver
Due to the decision made by Ferrari to sacrifice Carlos Sainz in the name of Lewis Hamilton for 2025, it will be the Spaniard’s last home grand prix as a Scuderia driver. This weekend will therefore be a special occasion for Smooth Operatorwho thus described the thrill of driving to Montmeló dressed in red.
Sainz’s words
“For me it is absolutely one of the most special moments of the year. Being able to race in front of the home crowd is a privilege and I’m really excited thinking about next weekend. The circuit is crowded every day with thousands of Spanish fans and the support I receive from them is truly special. I also have a dedicated grandstand, the Grada CS55, full of super fans! It has now become a very nice tradition and I love driving and enjoying the atmosphere there“, these are his words to Ferrari channels.
“This is a very demanding track and we drivers (or at least most of us) know this well due to the many tests we have carried out here in the past“, he continued. “Turns 1, 2 and 3 are a really nice combination with medium and high speed corners where the neck is put to the test. Turn 9 is also super fast and a little blind because it’s uphill. You need to treat the tires well in the first part of the track if you want to get the most out of the third sector and complete a competitive lap in qualifying“.
In these minutes Sainz is driving a street demo of Ferrari in the heart of Barcelona, here are his feelings before the ceremony: “I think it’s something special, I’m extremely proud to be able to participate in this show. It will give people a chance to take a closer look at the car and we will have fun together doing some tricks. I’m looking forward to this experience and I hope viewers have as much fun as I hope to!“.
