Sobyanin: Elections in Moscow proceeded as planned, without any glitches
The elections of the Moscow City Duma deputies, municipal deputies of TiNAO and the Kurkino district were held in a routine manner, without any problems. This was reported by the capital’s mayor Sergei Sobyanin during a meeting with the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev on the preliminary results of the single voting day, writes RIA Novosti.
“The elections were held in a routine manner, without any problems, and were well organized,” was the assessment given by the Mayor of Moscow.
Elections in Moscow began on Friday, September 6 at 8:00 and ended on Sunday, September 8, at 20:00. Muscovites elected deputies of the Moscow City Duma, residents of the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky districts also voted for municipal deputies. Early elections of deputies of the Council of Deputies of the Kurkino Municipal District were held these days.
On September 8, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Sergei Sobyanin opened the first section of the new 16th line of the Moscow metro. The Troitskaya line was designed to relieve traffic on the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya and Sokolnicheskaya lines, as well as adjacent roads – Leninsky Prospekt, Vernadsky Prospekt, Profsoyuznaya Street, etc.
On Friday, September 6, Sergei Sobyanin voted in the elections of deputies of the Moscow City Duma. According to the mayor of the capital, the electronic voting system worked as usual.
