Air France indicated in a statement that the Boeing 787 was carrying 272 people, including 260 passengers and 12 crew members.
The plane was diverted to the capital of Nunavut, Canada. The airline then sent a replacement plane from Montreal to transport passengers to New York on Wednesday and from there continue their journey to their final destination in Seattle.

Boeing inspection failures
The investigation began after a former company employee, engineer Sam Salehpour, reported that the fuselage of the 787 Dreamliner is inadequately assembled and at risk of breaking in mid-flight.
Before the complaint, the aircraft manufacturer was already mired in a deep crisis as a result of serious quality problems with its 737 MAX aircraft, which are also being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
