Apple has announced that it has discovered serious security flaws in iPhones, iPads and MacBooks that could allow attackers to gain complete control of these devices.
Apple added that it was “aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited.”
In a security update on its support page, the US company said that one of the flaws means that a malicious application “may be able to execute arbitrary code”, allowing full access to the device.
Cyber security experts advised users to urgently update the affected devices, namely iPhone 6s and newer models, recent iPads, and computers running the Monterey system.
The vulnerability may also affect some iPod models.
The warning to users of “Apple” devices comes ahead of the expected date next September to launch the company’s latest phones, which is expected to bear the name “iPhone 14”.
