An AfD city councillor clashed with a landlord in Sonneberg in 2022. The dispute could have repercussions shortly before the local elections in Thuringia.

Sonneberg – On that day in spring 2022, the city councilor had already caught the landlord’s eye with his blue AfD polo shirt. He shouted the forbidden slogan several times in the pub until the owner threw him out of the “Gewölbe Bar” after a warning. His companion is said to have worn a shirt with the print “I Love HTLR”After the expulsion, the landlord banned the AfD politician from the premises. According to the AfD man Escher, this is what he calls Focus as “completely fictitious”. It goes on to say that the responsible public prosecutor’s office in Meiningen is not currently dealing with the Escher case. It is still unclear whether charges will be brought.
