The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is making tremendous efforts to serve the Two Holy Mosques and ensure the comfort of pilgrims and Umrah pilgrims. It has introduced modern technologies and added new applications during the Hajj season 1445 AH, in order to serve the guests of God and facilitate the performance of their rituals.
The Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance launched advocacy and guidance programs and new technologies to educate pilgrims about how to perform their rituals, represented by an electronic library containing thousands of religious books, operating a toll-free phone to answer inquiries throughout the day, and installing a number of huge electronic screens in the mosques of the Holy Sites, to broadcast… Awareness messages in multiple international languages.
Millions of awareness text messages are also broadcast to pilgrims’ mobile phones.
The Ministry of Transport and Logistics announced that it will implement more than 32 technical experiments, including 17 new technologies, most notably the “flying taxi” to transport pilgrims from King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah to Mecca, using the environmentally friendly “Lilium” electric plane, and “rubber asphalt” to enhance… Pilgrims’ comfort and safety, “cooled roads,” and a bag-free Hajj service.
Six airports in the Kingdom have been prepared to receive pilgrim flights, with 21,000 human staff allocated to serve them at these airports.
One of the new technologies in this year’s Hajj is “inspection glasses,” which facilitate the inspection of vehicles and the extraction of their data within a few seconds.
He also announced the completion of logistical preparations for the Hajj without a bag service, which is concerned with transporting and shipping the luggage of pilgrims from various regions of the Kingdom to the holy sites, and vice versa for domestic pilgrims.
The Kingdom provided teams to organize the flow of pilgrims to the Holy House of God and Arafat, according to specific dates.
The General Authority for Roads announced its full readiness to receive and facilitate the movement of the guests of God arriving through land ports, and the authority carried out comprehensive maintenance work on the roads leading to the holy sites.
The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture revealed that it pumped 750,000 cubic meters of water daily in Mecca, carried out 4,100 daily laboratory tests to ensure the quality of the water provided to the pilgrims, and provided 20 stations to monitor air quality in Mecca and Medina throughout the day.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, ordered the hosting of 1,000 pilgrims from the families of the martyrs and the injured from the Gaza Strip, to perform Hajj rituals in an exceptional manner, as part of the program for the guests of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for Hajj and Umrah.
Diplomats and scholars from Al-Azhar Al-Sharif praised the efforts made by the Kingdom during the Hajj of 1445 AH, which made all the aspects of Hajj easily and conveniently performed.
The Egyptian Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Salah Halima, appreciated the Kingdom’s efforts and initiatives based on the service and comfort of the guests of God during the Hajj season, stressing that Saudi Arabia is developing these services and ensuring that this ritual is performed with ease and comfort.
Ambassador Halima told Al-Ittihad that, over the past few years, the Kingdom has accomplished a series of qualitative leaps in developing and expanding the holy places, and creating services and facilities that facilitated the Hajj and made its performance easy and comfortable.
Strict procedures
For his part, Professor of Islamic Sharia at Al-Azhar University, Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Karima, praised the Kingdom’s efforts in organizing this year’s Hajj, noting that the Kingdom provided means of transportation for people of determination and the elderly in circumambulation and sa’i, and held activities to raise awareness of pilgrims and ensure their safety.
Karima told Al-Ittihad that the Kingdom has paid attention to matters of subsistence and providing treatment and health services to the guests of God, and it is keen on the safety of the pilgrim and facilitating access to him, which leads to the successful organization of the Hajj.
New initiatives
In turn, the official spokesman for Al-Azhar University, Dr. Ahmed Zaree, praised the efforts made by the Kingdom to serve pilgrims, stressing that these efforts are increasing year after year in light of the launch of new initiatives.
Zarei explained to Al-Ittihad that the Kingdom launched some important electronic applications that ended the crowding and problems that were occurring, as these applications organized the process of presence and prayer in the Two Holy Mosques and in crowded places, pointing out that the Kingdom relies on new technology to provide more support and comfort to the pilgrims. .
Relief for pilgrims
The former Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister, Ambassador Rakha Ahmed Hassan, considered that the Kingdom is keen to provide all means of comfort to pilgrims, especially as their numbers increase significantly.
In a statement to Al-Ittihad, Ambassador Rakha Hassan pointed out that the Kingdom has introduced modern means of transportation such as the “flying taxi” and the “Haramain Express Train,” saying that it will reduce the problems of crowding and crowding, which indicates the Kingdom’s interest in easing the burden on pilgrims and facilitating their Hajj. .
