Russian prisoners of warafter being captured by the Ukrainian forces, they said they had no idea they were being sent to invade Ukraineand that they are being used as “cannon fodder”, since they were sent into battle against peaceful people.
The soldiers tearfully said that they had not been told that they were going to attack “peaceful people defending their territory.”

According to Ukraine, so far Russia lost 5,840 soldiers in the first days of the conflictsome of the fastest losses since World War II, if the number is accurate, Putin’s men suffered a defeat while trying to achieve a quick victory, as there was strong resistance from the Ukrainian forces.
However, while Russian forces were preparing to continue the assault, those wounded and captured by Ukrainethe Russian prisoners of war were forced to reflect on their decisions behind enemy lines.

In one of the videos one of the Russian soldiers said “No one has attacked us and what Russia wants from the war, I can’t understand. Mom, dad, I love you.”
A week after Russia invaded Ukraine, Kiev claims to have captured dozens of Russian military personnel, and cell phone videos of bewildered and unarmed uniformed youths are circulating online.
Additionally, recordings obtained by the British intelligence company ShadowBreak revealed that Russian soldiers withdrew after becoming frustrated with the war, indicating that Moscow’s forces appear to be in disarray.

In another video posted on Telegram, soldiers said they were ‘demoralized’ when they found out they were being sent to fight in Ukraine. “They told us that we would be enemies of the state and that, since it is wartime, they could even shoot us if we refused. They shot us like cannon fodder.”
