Postovoy was arrested in Sarasota, Florida, and charged with conspiracy to violate the Export Control Reform Act, smuggling, money laundering, and defrauding the United States.
According to the US Department of Justice, dual-use technologies exported to Russia could have been used in the production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Earlier, a Russian was arrested in Zambia for attempting to export a large consignment of currency from four African countries. According to the man, his passport and phone were confiscated.
