The Ministry of Health approved new recommendations for medical abortion
The Russian Ministry of Health has approved new clinical recommendations for abortion. They, in particular, contain information for patients about performing an ultrasound, during which the woman will see the fetus and hear its heartbeat.
Relevant document was published in the rubricator of clinical recommendations of the department.
The recommendations also emphasize that abortion is an unsafe procedure with a risk of various complications, including infertility, chronic inflammatory processes, and the possible development of cardiovascular diseases.
As noted, if a woman decides to have a medical abortion, but changes her mind when taking the first pills, she needs to urgently consult a doctor. The specialist will perform an ultrasound and, if there is a heartbeat in the fetus, prescribe treatment aimed at maintaining the pregnancy.
The patient should also be aware that medications can have a negative impact on the health of the unborn child.
In April, it became known that in Russia in 2023, 46 thousand women refused to have an abortion. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Health Mikhail Murashko
Back in 2023, regional authorities began to restrict women’s reproductive rights, introducing fines for inducing abortions and banning abortions in private clinics. The fight against abortion, considering it as an obstacle to increasing the birth rate, began at the federal level.
