It’s no secret that Switchor rather the controllers Joy-Con of Switch, have been the subject of a number of defects over the years. Known for the much feared Joy-Con Drift, controllers have been a source of pain for gamers around the world, with many opting for the much more reliable Pro Controller.
It appears that Nintendo is finally trying to provide a meaningful service to address such issues and has launched a subscription service in Japan to help customers requiring Switch repairs. The service is known as “Wide Care” and will cost consumers 200 yen per month (about $ 1.50) or 2000 yen per year ($ 15).
The service covers pretty much everything that comes with the Switch hardware, including the consoles themselves, Joy-Con controllers, dock, and AC adapter. Customers can request up to six repairs per year, with the service also covering accidental damage and water damage.
As we said, for now this service is only available in Japan. We just have to wait to see if it will also arrive in the rest of the world.
