All Azzurri at Mugello
The highly anticipated event is getting closer and closer Italian Grand Prix in home Ducati, which will present itself at Mugello with a completely different ‘look’ from its emblematic red. The Desmosedici GP 24s of Enea Bastianini and world champion Francesco Bagnaia will take to the track with an all-blue livery, the same color as the race suits of the riders and the jerseys of the members of the Borgo Panigale team adopted to pay homage to the Italian national teams who will take part in the major competitions this summer: from the European football championships in Germany to the Olympic Games which will take place in Paris.
Third success in a row?
An all-Italian union for a Sunday that will see Ducati competing on the occasion of Republic Day. A day in which the team will aim to reaffirm itself in the face of the Ducatista tide, kicking off another party already seen in the last two years at Mugello and a week after Bagnaia’s success in Barcelona, where the Piedmontese outclassed the Spanish competition in his home GP: “Racing at Mugello is always an indescribable emotion and being able to count on the warmth of all the Italian fans and Ducatisti present on the track makes this event even more incredible – declared Bagnaia, who last season achieved success in the Sprint and in the race, as well as taking pole and setting the track record – the two victories achieved here in the last two years have been one better than the other and I dream of being able to do it again this year. Our Sunday at the Italian GP will be even more special, given that we will wear the same colors as the national team! I’m excited and can’t wait to get on track!”
In Tuscany to forget Catalonia
He is aiming for a more positive weekend than the last one he experienced at Mugello as an official Ducati rider Enea Bastianinithen back from his injury and not yet in top physical condition after the fracture to his left scapula suffered in the first match in Portimao: “Back on track immediately after Barcelona it’s what it takes to finally be able to put last Sunday behind me and try to redeem myself – explained the Rimini native, 18th in Spain after serving the long lap penalty – running in front of the home crowd wearing Azzurro energizes me and motivates me a lot. Let’s hope the weather is on our side! I will do my best to be able to fight for a good result and give a great show to all my fans and the Ducatisti who will be at Mugello this weekend.”
