While waiting for the Pertamina Enduro VR46 team to launch the official press release, everything seemed to have already been decided before the summer break. Fabio Di Giannantonio will remain in the Tavullia team and will have a Desmosedici GP25, the same bike that Pecco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez, the two official riders of Borgo Panigale, will race. Alongside the Roman rider will be Franco Morbidelli, part of Valentino Rossi’s Academy when he was very young. He will race with the GP24, the same prototype with which he now races in Pramac.
The World Championship is now on at Silverstone and, during the first free practice session, Davide Tardozzi anticipated some news to the microphones of international television: “Next year, Di Giannantonio will have a GP25 and Morbidelli a GP24”. Thus, Ducati confirms that it will lose one of the four official bikes with which it has competed in the last seasons, as had already been anticipated by Gigi Dall’Igna.

This statement reached the ears of Uccio, Director of the VR46 structure, who before finishing his shift went to ask Tardozzi for explanations in the Ducati box. This image was also captured by the cameras of international television, suggesting that the information released was not appreciated by the fluorescent yellow team.
This is the first “disagreement” between VR46 and Ducati, who just a few hours ago made official the fact that Rossi’s team will become factory-supported by Ducati. Starting next year, the Tavullia team will receive factory support, taking over from Pramac, who before the summer break made official its move to Yamaha.
After Tardozzi’s indiscretion, VR46 is expected to formalize the renewal of Fabio Di Giannantonio and the arrival of Franco Morbidelli in the next few hours.
