Court of Auditors: “The Ministry of Transport ignored our opinion”
There Court of Auditors expressed itself on the agreement reached between the Benetton and the government for the transfer of the concession of Highways following the collapse of the bridge Morandi. The losers – we read in the Fatto Quotidiano – for the reviewers is it State, which is not only about to pay out billions to the Atlantia of the family Benetton to buy the dealership before the process sheds light on its responsibilities in the collapse. But he also risks being exposed to the payment of compensation due in the event of its conviction. The Court of Auditors writes it to the Minister of Infrastructures, Enrico Giovannini, which had submitted to the accounting judiciary the settlement agreement signed by the government with Aspi to close the dispute opened after the tragedy, receiving a loud blow as a response, not to say a rejection.
The deal – continues Il Fatto – seems above all gods Benetton. They dance more than 8 billion (the value that will be paid to Aspi by the consortium led by Cdp), but nothing proves that “the cost of the transaction (3.4 billion, ed.) was taken into account in the (decreasing) value of the shares of Atlantia in Aspi. In short, in the absence of these elements, it is impossible for the Court to “evaluate the economic equilibrium of the agreement and, consequently, respect for the principle of economy”. There Cdc also stigmatizes the work of the ministry which first asked for and then in fact ignored the opinion given in September by theState Attorney, which had raised the alarm on the impact of the agreement due to the possible “forfeiture” of the concessionaire.
