The Consortium team slips their first victory in this event and resumes the march towards qualification
Monza-Mulhouse 3-0
(25-20, 25-17, 25-12)
Monza crashes Mulhouse and wins the first victory in its history in the Champions League. An impressive show of strength in a growing competition, in which Danesi and teammates play a match with a fluid attack and a wall-defense that leaves no way out for the guests. Victory that comes in a moment of difficulty due to injuries (Mihajlovic still out, on the scoresheet without playing Gennari), but which confirms the qualities of the team. Davyskiba (17 points) is mvp, no less deserving than Van Hecke and (13) and Danesi (11). For Mulhouse 6 points for Drewniok and Haak, but a deficient attack (25%).
The match
–
Gaspari starts with the sextet seen with Florence, with Orro-Van Hecke diagonally, Stysiak-Davyskyba crushers, Danesi-Candi in the center, free Parish Church. Salvagni responds with surprise Viggars in the direction opposite Drewniok, Coneo and Haak in the band, Van Avermaet and Olinga-Andela central with Soldner Libero Double advantage of the French at the start, but Monza responds immediately by taking off (7-2). Mulhouse is imprecise and the locals, with Danesi, Van Hecke and Davyskiba (minus Stysiak, replaced by Lazovic for a lap behind) take advantage (22-16). Anna Haak (Bella’s sister in force at Vakif) finds good parallels, Vanjak gives her a hand from the bench and the guests shorten before closing 25-20, with Monza in full control and Salvagni who does not find Kastner in the diagonal change- Novakovic an effective answer. On the return to the field there is Kastner for Mulhouse, but Monza continues to push with Davyskiba and Danesi (2 attacks and 2 blocks in the initial 8-4). The Brianza relax and the French champions draw at 9. Response from Vero Volley (15-12) and Gaspari’s girls build a little treasure that gives way to another thrust (19-13) with Salvagni changing again, uselessly , the diagonal. But the home wall is granite and the transalpines do not pass, while Van Hecke and Davyskiba (9 and 11 points at the end of the second set) continue to rage until 25-17 which is worth 2-0. Salvagni revolutionizes the sextet to reverse the route (inside Vanjak in the band and Lamprousi in the center as well as Viggars) but it is always Monza that makes the game, for better or for worse, with some inaccuracies. The home wall touches everything, and Mulhouse’s attack rates remain very low. The transalpines remain in contact until 12-10, then an 11-0 at home closes the games before 25-12 (wall of the new Zakchaiou entrance), before which Gaspari empties the bench, with glory also for the debut of the young Elisa Bole.
