independent Medellín could not get past the goalless draw against Deportivo Pasto at the Atanasio Girardot stadium and had its first stumble in the semi-finals of the 2022-II League.
The DIM generated several scoring opportunities, but it was not effective against a team from Nariño that took advantage as a visitor.
The game began under heavy rain and with high spirits for both teams, at minute 2 of the game Jeison Medina with a header, came close to beating goalkeeper Andrés Mosquera Marmolejo. A minute later, Mariano Vázquez generated another approach after a corner kick. Finally, Mateo Garavito from medium distance demanded the powerful goalkeeper.
At minute 9, Medellín responded through Diber Cambindo with a header that went very close to the visiting goal. The game went back and forth without a clear dominator.

In the 16th minute, Pasto approached the rival area again, through Facundo Boné and three minutes later by Jeison Medina, but Marmolejo was impassable.
At minute 21, Vladimir Hernández outside the area approached Medellín again, but the ball was deflected over the Nariño goal. About the 25th minute, Pasto generated the clearest play to date, after a cross from Gilberto García, Jeison Medina sent the ball to the crossbar.
At minute 26, Andrés Ricaurte from medium distance, sent the ball very close to the Pastuso goal. The party had increased in temperature and was concentrated in the center of the field.

The move discussed in the second stage
Already in the second half, at 14, Luciano Pons generated a new approach, but the ball was rejected by the Nariño defense. It was until minute 20, when Medellín had more clarity in his arrival, generating a penalty in favor with a clear hand inside the area. However, the central referee Luis Matorel was called by the VAR, two minutes later he changed his decision and did not call the foul.
Medellín was the owner of the ball and the actions, but he lacked depth. Pasto took the opportunity to make another change, entering Leiner Escalante instead of Facundo Boné.
At minute 38, Medellín approached after a free kick from the left flank and Luciano Pons headed the ball close to the rival’s goal. A minute later, Vladimir Hernández on the left wing finished off at speed and the ball went wide.
On the next date, Independiente Medellín visits América de Cali, while Deportivo Pasto receives Águilas Doradas at the Libertad stadium.
