Massacres of ’93, the colored ticket and the tip kept hidden: Mario Mori and the silences
The former commander of the Ros Mario Mori is being investigated by Prosecutor’s Office of Florence for them mafia massacres of 1993. According to the prosecution, Mori “knew in detail the bomb plan but for nine months he did not act”. Everything revolves around a colored card provided by the bosses, who according to the accusation made – and reported by Il Fatto Quotidiano – “he destroyed”. The invitation to appear as a suspect (who may avail himself of the right not to respond) follows a first audition a year ago as a witness required to tell the truth to brief information. On that occasion Mori was certainly asked the question that many have been asking for decades on the colored piece of paper with the names of the bosses.
In particular – based on what was reconstructed by Il Fatto – the Florence prosecutors deny that Mori did not have valued the information received in August 1992 thanks to Carabinieri Marshal Roberto Tempesta who came into contact with Paolo Bellini, who in turn was in contact with the boss Antonino Gioé. And for not having followed up on the confidences received (according to the collaborator) from Angelo Siino on 25 June 1993, when he was alone a confidant of Ros. After the massacres that cost the lives of Falcone and Borsellinothe bosses ask Bellini – according to the accusation – to bring their request to the State to lower the level of the battle: prison benefits for five major bosses. Tempesta gives Mori the colored piece of paper with the names of the bosses, received from Bellini. But for the prosecutors “He died despite knowing the bomb plan, for months he avoided investigating“.
Mafia: Carabinieri “closeness to Mori, from him luster to Arma”
“With full respect for the work of the Judicial Authority”, the Carabinieri “expresses its closeness towards an officer who, with his service, has brought prestige to the Institution in Italy and abroad, trusting that even in this circumstance he will be able to demonstrate his non-involvement in the disputed facts”. The General Command of the Carabinieri writes this in a note, in relation to the news of the notice of investigation against General Mario Mori.
