His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Border Security Council, today made a field visit to Dubai International Airport (DXB) to review the progress of operations and procedures provided by the concerned authorities at the airport, and the efforts made to ensure the highest levels of service for travelers. His Highness also visited the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, and was briefed on the workflow, procedures followed, and operating mechanisms for drones in order to ensure the safety of the airspace of the Emirate of Dubai.
His Highness was accompanied on his two inspection tours by His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Council for Ports and Border Security, and a number of members of the Council, namely His Excellency Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, His Excellency Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, His Excellency Major General Ahmed Mohammed bin Thani, and His Excellency Hamad Obaid Al-Mansouri, His Excellency Jamal Al-Hai, His Excellency Muhammad Abdullah Linjawi, His Excellency Ibrahim Hassan Ali Ahli, His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Muhammad Bu Sinad, His Excellency Omar Ali Salem Al-Adidi, Secretary-General of the Council, and a number of senior officials and representatives of the relevant government agencies.
His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum praised the efforts of Dubai Airports, under the leadership and supervision of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, President of Dubai Airports and Supreme President and CEO of the Emirates Airlines Group, and the efforts made by all strategic partners, including: These include Dubai Police, Dubai Customs, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, and Dubai Air Navigation Services Corporation. His Highness praised the one-team spirit embodied by the airport’s crews and teams to ensure the provision of distinguished services that meet the highest international standards.
His Highness listened to an explanation from senior officials from various airport departments about the readiness of facilities, crews, and the work procedures followed. The tour included points of contact with travelers, including passport control, security, customs, luggage, and others.
His Highness also inspected the drone operations room at the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority to see the latest technologies and systems used in monitoring and regulating drones. His Highness praised the efforts of the work teams in the authority under the supervision of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, praising the dedication of the employees specialized in managing Drone operations and ensuring that the highest standards of security and safety are met in the Emirate’s airspace.
His Highness was also briefed on the operating mechanism of the latest drone monitoring systems to protect the airspace, which consolidates the prestigious position of the Emirate of Dubai as a model in adopting the best internationally approved practices and procedures. During the visit, His Highness stressed the importance of keeping pace with the rapid technological developments in the field of drone operations in order to enhance the safety and smoothness of their operation.
His Highness concluded the visit by thanking and praising all members of the Authority’s work team in appreciation of their dedication and efforts, noting that their excellence in performing their duties reflects Dubai’s ambitious vision to be a global leader in the field of civil aviation.
