The British M-Sport is mainly known for their involvement in the World Rally Championship. Next year they will swap the Ford Fiesta WRC for the new Ford Puma, which is powered by a hybrid turbo engine. But under the brand new M-Sport Special Vehicles (MS-SV) subdivision, they will also deal with special projects. With the Pandamonium they show what they are all capable of.
The Pandamonium is a Fiat Panda 4×4. Or so it seems, because the body of the Italian city car is on the chassis of a Ford Fiesta R5 rally car. You notice that, among other things, in the longer wheelbase of this M-Sport creation, which increased from 2.16 to 2.48 meters. The increased track width leads to a Group B-like body kit with muscular wheel arches, which make the body of the Pandamonium 36 centimeters wider.
Eco boost
As befits a pure rally car, the Pandamonium comes with a stripped interior. This Panda 4×4 comes with an FIA-approved roll bar, the sports seats – two, after all, it is a rally monster and not a track boy – get a six-point harness. Also notice the sliding window in the side windows, like in the good old rally days.
The Pandamonium’s powertrain is also that of the Ford Fiesta R5. Under the hood of this Fiat Panda 4×4 hides a 1.6 liter turbo petrol from the Ecoboost family, here good for a peak power of 300 hp for a maximum torque of 450 Nm. That power is put on all four wheels via a Sadev transmission. M-Sport also provided custom front and rear differentials. Nice detail: the remarkably slim exhaust pipe.
