Often at the center of criticism, between fluctuating performance and market rumors. But perhaps never more than now does Juventus’ left lane seem close to a real revolution. The first name under discussion – needless to say – is that of Alex Sandro: one of the first confirmed by Allegri last summer, one of the least convincing this year too. So much so that his followers are preferred, first De Sciglio protagonist of a good start of the season and then Pellegrini, the revelation of the last month.
IN DISCUSSION
–
Alex Sandro has a contract with Juve until 2023, but has been well below expectations for some time. So much so that he was punctually approached to the outgoing market, but then remained due to lack of concrete entry possibilities in the face of other needs of the squad. The Brazilian, however, is no longer notoriously untouchable and next summer, one year from the deadline, he could opt for the sale more easily. Destination? Premier clubs have always kept an eye on him with some consideration, but it is still early to draw conclusions. What seems obvious is rather the momentary unconditional trust of Allegri, who has deployed him up to now twenty-three times – or once less than Locatelli who is the player with the most seasonal appearances – even if the confidence has not always been reciprocated with performances at the height. .
ASCENT
–
On the other hand, Pellegrini was ready in the last few races and quickly climbed the hierarchy by increasing the minutes of the year in a short time. In the eight appearances collected, not only did he make himself appreciated but he also often made himself decisive, drawing the assist to his more experienced Brazilian colleague (who in addition scored only one goal in the Champions League). The class of 1999 is a vice ideal, also useful because Alex Sandro – like the other South Americans – this year found himself having to deal with a truly prohibitive international calendar, due to the commitments with the national team. “Luca was good, last summer he strongly wanted to stay and worked hard to earn his place with merit”, the recognition of Allegri, who should give him a lot of space also in the second part of the season. So much so that the player, who last summer seemed to be able to leave in January, could even have some chance of finding himself on the Champions list as well. While De Sciglio can safely return to lend a hand on the right.
