The private Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that hundreds of demonstrators gathered in Jerusalem near the building in which Ben Gvir was accompanied by Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu and extremist rabbi Bentzi Gofstein.
She added that the police evacuated Ben Ghafir from the place after his officers demanded that he be secured.
Indeed, the police prevented the protesters from reaching Ben Gvir after they surrounded his car and chanted slogans of disapproval against him, including “Shame on you.”
The police used means to disperse the demonstrators, including waste water, according to the same source.
For its part, Israeli Army Radio said that the incident occurred on King George Street in front of the Art Museum, which was besieged by demonstrators while Ben Gvir was inside.
Before that, the official Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said that protesters tried to storm the Great Temple in West Jerusalem after hearing that Ben Gvir was there, before the police confronted them.
Ben Gvir is the leader of the far-right “Jewish Power” party, and is considered one of the most opposed to concluding a deal with Hamas that would lead to an end to the war and the release of hostages on both sides.
